Student ANSYS Installation Instructions - Personal Machine Use Only
How to install
You must be connected to the TAMU network for this installation. This can be through either TAMU WIFI or VPN. The installation will not complete properly if the device is not on the TAMU network. Information on connecting to the campus VPN can be found at https://connect.tamu.edu.
Download ANSYSinstaller.exe to your local computer.
Launch the downloaded ANSYSinstaller.exe.
Agree to the license agreement and select Next>.
Follow the on-screen prompts to either create or sign into an ANSYS account.
Select the required applications from the list or leave default selected products if unsure of what to select and click Next>
Depending on network and computer speed, the installation may take from 30-90 minutes.
When the license window opens, enter the following values:
Port: 1055
Server 1: Insert
coe-vtls7.engr.tamu.eduleave Server 2 and Server 3 blank
Select Test to check the server's status, and a check will appear. Select Save.
If the test fails, ensure the port and server information is correct and ensure that your system is connected to the campus VPN.
ANSYS is now installed and may be launched from the Start menu.
IMPORTANT: Your system MUST have a connection to the campus VPN each time ANSYS is launched.
