Open the Start Menu and begin typing Printers & scanners. It should autocomplete, so press Enter to open the app
Click the Add Printer or Scanner at the top of the page. A long list of networked printers will show up, scroll to the end of the list and click the “The printer that I want isn’t listed” button.
Select the Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname option and click Next
Enter the IP of your printer and click Next. Windows will automatically detect the printer.
Use the recommended setting and click Next
Change the name if you prefer to use something easier to remember and click Next
The printer will install. You can print a test page if you want to make sure it is connect, then click Finish.
MacOS MacOS Instructions
Open System Preferences and go to Printers & Scanners
Click the + button in the bottom left-hand side of the Printers field.
Select the IP option and enter the IP address of your printer. Some options will automatically fill.
Choose the Line Printer Daemon Protocol.
Enter your preferred name in the Name field.
Optional: Enter a room number in the Location field.
Click Add to add the printer.
If MacOS is unable to determine the exact configuration of your printer, it will ask you a few questions about what hardware configurations the printer has (tray options/duplex printing/etc.). Select the appropriate options. If you are unsure, you can leave the options unchecked.
Linux Instructions
Open the search menu by pressing the Windows key on the keyboard
Type “printer” and open the Printers app
On Ubuntu 18.04, click on “Printers” next to “Settings”, then click the “Additional Printer Settings” button
Click Add
If you get a prompt for the root password, click Cancel to ignore it.
Enter the IP address of the printer in ipp://1.1.1.1 format in the device URI field
Select the printer make and model based on the printer’s model
Enter the printer name, description, and location if desired
Print a test page to confirm you are connected, then click Done.
