Configuring the forwarding of emails through Gateway and Google Apps ensures that all emails sent to your netid@tamu.edu will be delivered, stored, and viewable in both your Texas A&M Exchange and Gmail accounts. The following steps will walk through how to set up forwarding for a published email address as well as how to set up forwarding for Texas A&M Gmail.

Forwarding for published email address

  1. Login to Aggie Account Gateway with your CAS login

  2. Click on the EMAIL SETTINGS icon

  3. Under Forwarding Settings, click on Edit

  4. Select the following options in order to route the emails sent to your NetID@tamu.edu address to your Exchange account:

    1. Sent to and stored in my Texas A&M Exchange mailbox

      1. When I send and reply to emails, this address should be displayed: My published email address

  5. Click on the Save icon at the bottom of the screen to implement the new settings

Forwarding for Texas A&M Gmail

  1. Login to your Texas A&M Gmail account

  2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right hand corner of the screen to open Settings

    1. Under Quick settings, click on See all settings

  3. Select the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab and then under the Forwarding section, click on Add a forwarding address

    1. Please enter a new forwarding email address: netid@exchange.tamu.edu

    2. Click on Next

    3. Click Proceed and then click OK on the following pop up windows

    4. Select Forward a copy of incoming mail to [netid@exchange.tamu.edu (in use)] and [keep Texas A&M University Mail’s copy in the Inbox]

  4. Click on the Save Changes icon at the bottom of the page to implement the new settings
