How to Purchase and Use an Adobe License
Adobe licenses are purchased through a third party vendor, Insight. IT will work with Insight to get users set up with any Adobe products they might need. If you need to install Adobe Acrobat, you can install it through the Self Service Portal for Mac or Windows.
How to Request a Quote
Submit a ticket to engr-helpdesk@tamu.edu requesting a quote for the Adobe license you need. You can request the full Creative Cloud suite or an individual product from the suite. Please note that if you need more than one product, you will need to purchase the full CC Suite
There are two different license types, named-user and device. Named-user licenses are tied to a user account and can be used on up to two devices. Device licenses are can only be used on a single device
IT will reach out to Insight for a quote and send it back to the user. Once the user approves the quote, they can either send it to the business office with an account number for them to purchase it, or they can provide the account number to IT and the IT group will forward that information to the business group
Once the purchase has gone through, IT will provision the account and the license and work with the user to configure
Named-user licenses can be tied to a shared mailbox and used by multiple users.
Device licenses will need to be installed and configured by IT
How to Sign into a Named-User Account
Named-user accounts are tied to an email address. In most cases, the user will need to create an account for that address before using the software.
Go to adobe.com and sign up for an account with the email address used for the account.
If there is already an account, click Sign In and then click Reset your password
Once you know your username and password, open the CC app and sign in using the email address tied with the account
Select Personal Account
Enter your password and click Continue
If you have the full CC license, you can then install any Adobe programs manually by clicking install
