How to install

You must be connected to the TAMU network for this installation. This can be through either TAMU WIFI or VPN. The installation will not complete properly if the device is not on the TAMU network.

  1. Use USB from Zachry 383

    1. Do not use ANSYS Website

  2. Plug USB into the user’s device and navigate to D:\ANSYS2024R2

  3. Create a “Temp” directory file on the user’s C drive.

  4. Copy the “Base” Folder to the new “Temp” folder.

  5. Open the Base folder in Temp and open the Setup application.

  6. Select “Install Ansys Products.”

  7. Agree to the license agreement and select Next>.

  8. Ensure “Associate file extensions with Ansys products” is selected and select Next>

    1. Leave the default installation path as C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc

  9. Leave default selected products and click Next>.

  10. Leave Interface Configuration values as default and select Next>.

  11. CAD installs are automatically detected. Select Next>.

  12. Review install settings and select Next>.

  13. Once the installation reaches 100%, select Next>

    1. Takes 20-30 minutes

  14. Licensing Settings 2024 R2 window will open

  15. Check the Enabled toggle.

  16. Input the following

    1. Port: 1055

    2. Server 1: Insert hprc-license.tamu.edu

    3. leave Server 2 and Server 3 blank

  17. Select Test to check the server's status, and a check (tick) will appear. Select Save.

    1. If the test fails, ensure the port and server information is correct

  18. Exit and launch ANSYS

    1. Startup file can be found at C:\Program Files\ANSYS Inc\v242\Framework\bin\Win64\runwb2.exe.

  19. Create shortcut on desktop for easier access to the program.
