Chevron Studios

The Chevron Studios are rooms located in the Zachry Engineering Education Complex. Studio 299 is made available for studying and Studios 297-298 may be reserved for events (e.g. organization meetings, professional presentations, large group events, etc.).

Features

The Chevron Studios consist of 3 rooms: 297, 298, and 299. Each room is divided into spaces by two walls that can rise/lower per request of the reserving party. Please note that each space must be reserved individually. Each room includes:

  • Crestron Panel

  • A Podium that allows for HDMI inputs for presentations from a personal device.

    • USB and outlet connections

    • In-Room PC

  • Wireless connection option (through wePresent)

  • Microphones (three handheld and four L’appelle)

  • Projector(s) (Studio 297 has two)

Controls with the Crestron Panel

On the home screen of the Crestron Panel, there are five tabs as follows: Room Select, Displays, Audio, Lights/Shades, and Capture.

Room Select

This tab includes a variety of sub tabs as detailed below:

Microphone Routing

This includes the 7 mics and how you allocate the different mics to different rooms.

  • All rooms option

    • Note: If you choose all rooms, do not worry that the previously selected room stays highlighted

Audio

This tab is in charge of the audio floor box controls.

  • Specifically, those with podium capabilities

  • The audio from whatever device is plugged into the floor box

  • By default, this is generally the In-Room PC, but it can also be the HDMI or wePresent

Projector Controls

This tab is in charge of the visual floor box controls.

  • Allows the user to display different camera orientations from various points within the room

    • I.e. in 299 you can display from the camera in 298, as well as view what content they are displaying

Overrides/Orientation

This tab is in charge of the walls, lights, shades, etc.

MediaSite 1, 2, and 3

This tab consists of recording controls.

  • Note: lacks some functionality, you cannot use the multiple cameras or move the camera

Displays

This includes an option for Power (On or Off) and Source; i.e. Where the content that is displayed is being streamed from. This can be either the Floorbox - which sources from the Podium or the Camera.

Audio

Same as Audio described under Room Select, but only for the specific room in which you are controlling from.

Lights/Shades

Same as the Overrides/Orientation tab described under Room Select, but only for the specific room in which you are controlling from.

Capture

Allows you to indicate the camera from which you would like to record from, the content (i.e. Floorbox), and the camera controls.
