This page contains instructions for resetting a Mac computers FileVault key and escrowing it to Jamf Pro. This is critical to ensure that the password can be accessed by Technology Services - Engineering in case a password is forgotten or the device needs to be serviced. Occasionally there may be a failure when the escrow initially occurs - these instructions remediate such cases.

Instructions

  1. Navigate to TAMU ENGR Self Service in your Applications folder or on your Dock

  2. If your device is in need of a reissue, you will find Reissue FileVault Recovery Key under the Featured section

  3. Click Reissue

  4. After a moment a prompt will appear. Click Next

  5. At the next prompt, enter the password you use to sign into your Mac

  6. The next prompt will indicate that the process has completed, and your FileVault recovery key has been reissued
