When a netID account password is reset, it must be manually synchronized with corresponding macOS local accounts. This page walks through that process.

  1. After your account password changes, you will receive a notification in the macOS notification center directing you to reset your password. Click on this notification

  2. A login window will appear; enter your new netID credentials

  3. Another prompt will appear; enter your old netID password, and click Sync

  4. Your local account will now be synchronized to your new netID account password
