Adding Shared Calendar in Outlook

This article will show you how to connect to a shared calendar in outlook.

Windows

Old Outlook

  1. In Outlook, navigate to the calendar tab using the buttons at the bottom left

  2. Now in the Quick Access Toolbar, click Open Calendar, then choose Open Shared Calendar

  3. Click the “Name…” button to open the advanced search window for the TAMU global address list (GAL)

  4. Use this window to search for the calendar you would like. The “Name only” lets you search by the Display Name. However, if you know the email address use the “More columns” option at the top.

If you are looking for a Resource Calendar, such as a room or parking space calendar, you can search using the format “Room - Bldg ####” (Example below) or “Parking - DEPT - Lot ## Space ####”

Permissions must be granted for a calendar to make changes.

New Outlook

  1. In New Outlook, navigate to the Calendar tab.

  2. Click on Add Calendar.

  3. Select Add from directory.

  4. Choose your tamu account (netid@tamu.edu) to search from.

  5. In the Select a person, group, or resource field, type the calendar name you want to add.

If you are looking for a Resource Calendar, such as a room or parking space calendar, you can search using the format “Room - Bldg ####” or “Parking - DEPT - Lot ## Space ####”

6. Add to your calendar and click Add

Mac

  1. In Outlook, navigate to the calendar tab using the buttons at the bottom left

  2. Navigate to File > Open > Shared Calendar… to open the shared calendar dialogue box

  3. Use this to search for the shared calendar you are trying to access. You can search either by Display Name or email address
