Email Group Types - Office 365

The campus email platform uses groups to enable collaboration between users on campus. There are two types of groups commonly used on campus, and when you request a new group be created by your IT group, please specify which type you need.

You must use an exchange account to access a Shared Mail, please see https://tamuengr.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/helpdesk/pages/894992385 for details on getting connected once its created and you have been granted permissions.

Details Needed for a New Group to be Created

When you are requesting a new email group be created, please provide the following details:

  • Display Name - DEPT Committee Name

  • Email Address - DEPT-new-committee@tamu.edu

  • Group Type - Distribution Group or Shared Mailbox

Submit these details to engr-helpdesk@tamu.edu in order to create new groups.
